When was the last time I did a round-island. My! Almost 3 years ago. Although according to cycling tradition, a round-island is a century ride consisting of 120km. I cut short to 100km simply because I was too lazy and I was already in Tampines. Could have done it if I followed Michelle & Pek Gnee to ECP, but nah.

We did it in the daytime. Lucky the clouds obscured the sun, the headwind however was unforgiving. We got a little lost in Boon Lay but heck, Singapore is so small, we managed to get to CCK within half hour.

Went to Poison Ivy for lunch. Well, the dishes were unique but not exactly the best. The ambience however was the factor that caused us to linger for 2 whole hours. Ivy Singh had to come over to tell us if we gonna move our asses off. Haha.

At Mandai Rd, I was again the official slow tort. The heavy vehicles were merciless to us! Damn those f**ing lorry drivers. What's the hurry? It's not like you can get a raise if you go faster! At Jalan Kayu, one of the lorry purposely drove very close to me at high speed. The wind drag pulled me almost to the side of the lorry. Middle finger raised followed by all the hokkien cursings.

We were thankful that no big trucks at Old Tamp Rd and we safely made our way to Tampines to meet LCT. The legs don't feel like mine anymore. Makes me wonder am I really ready for E-W Highway touring ride!

Speaking about lorries and freaking trucks, the latest news on the damn f***ing lorry crashing in a Toyota car, compacting it into bundle of scrap metal and killing its innocent driver at Loyang is one of the terrible accident that happened in the East. It caused a massive traffic jam at peak hours from 3pm all the way till 8pm.

We were among those caught in the jam since our company is at Loyang Industrial area. We were in the cab from 6.30 and I finally got home at 8.15. However it is not about the jam we were grumbling about. But rather it was the recklessness of that stupid driver of the heavy vehicle that disgust us. My colleague found a link at youtube containing a 6mins footage of the accident aftermath. Totally sickening. Totally nauseating to see the body being hauled into the black van. Just search for "loyang accident" and there's the video.

It's sick! I mean I used that road everyday to work. On weekends I cycled pass that road as well. Many cars just sped ferociously to beat the traffic lights. Most leisure cyclists prefer the zebra-crossing rather than like us sieving thru' the turning lanes. We are lucky and touchwood by far, manage to pass thru' without harm. But it all just takes one damn hare-brain driver to cause a tragedy.

I hate truck drivers and reckless drivers. It's one reason why I never want to take up driving and drive in Singapore.

i know that a new season unfolds here ... at 10:29 a.m.
fate must have been crumbled before and after here
