Taiwan has alot of natural landscapes. Whatever, you named it. From beaches to mountains, gorges to waterfalls, and rivers to lakes. The main controlling factor? The damn weather!
I couldn't be too ambitious though. I have only 12 days to be in that island that is so many times bigger than this lil' red dot. So this is my plan:-
Day 1 - 2: Reside at Taipei. Visit Yangmingshan.
Day 3 - 5: Go over to Hualien county (Taroko Gorge, stay at Tienhsiang).
Day 5: Reside at Chiayi town.
Day 6 - 8: Reside at Alishan.
Day 8 - 11: Travel pass Taitung to Sun Moon Lake.
Day 11 - 12: Back to Taipei for Zzzz & shopping.
Favorite town?
Chiayi vibrant city with lotsa shop-house type of shopping.
Best place to R & R?
Sun Moon Lake. Basically it is a tourisy area.
Best scenery? At Mt Maolan peak which overlook the mountain ranges.
Most inaccessible place?
Sun Moon Lake. Yeah, though it's tourisy, there is little public transport!
